Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Verify authorizations for the invoices entered at various locations and process payments through accounts payable system in timely manner

  • Enter invoices at corporate level; allocate charges to various locations per Company’s accounting policy. Process payments for the same in timely manner

  • Verify that invoices are charged to the correct general ledger codes

  • Identify expenses that require capitalization in consultation with Senior Accountant and/or Corporate Controller

  • Communicate with business offices at various locations regularly to ensure timeliness and accuracy of recording invoices at location level

  • Communicate with vendors to reconcile discrepancies

  • Verify authorizations for expense reports, process the accuracy of the same and process the payment in timely manner

  • Verify daily ACH debits, wire payments and record them to correct general ledger codes

  • Assist with year end 1099 compliance

  • Run accounts payable aging report and review the same with the Senior Accountant and/or Corporate Controller

  • Research and resolve accounts payable related issues

  • Assist with internal/external audits

  • Assist with other accounting functions as may be necessary

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Associate’s or higher degree in Accounting/Finance

  • Excellent accounting software user

  • Experience with Oracle financials and/or other ERP systems a plus, but not required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with very good command over basic formulas & functions, sorting, subtotals, pivot tables, formatting, logical test functions etc.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and theories

  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

  • 2 + years of experience in similar position

  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work

  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives

  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external agencies to maximize performance, problem solving and results
